Get Ready With Me: Anniversary Meal

 Hello Everyone!
So today was my second anniversary with my boyfriend. Aww! We had planned to go out for a really nice meal in a posh restaurant as last year we couldn't really afford to go out anywhere. So, I bought myself a really pretty dress as I thought I'd make myself look really nice for a special occasion.

Here is how I got ready! Prior to this I had washed my face and removed my makeup using normal soap - I never usually use soap on my face it's a one off  as I've ran out of my normal cleanser : (

Oh hello bare faced me!

First off - foundation.
I use the Bourjois Paris healthy mix foundation in Light Vanilla.

Next I use my Concealer brush to blend my foundation over my dark circles.

Next up - Pressed powder and Blusher.
I use Rimmels Stay Matte Pressed powder in Pink Blossom and I use Rimmel's Lasting finish soft colour blush in pink rose.

Then I pencil in my eyebrows using Rimmel's Eyebrow pencil in Dark Brown.

For my eyes I went for a light smokey grey look to match the colour of my dress - clever me!
I used the Bourjois Paris Smokey Eye palette in 01 gris dandy.

Normally with my eyeliner I tend to go for a thick line, but as I had done a light smokey eye I thought it would be more fitting for a thin eyeliner. I'm using the Revlon Colourstay Liquid Eyeliner in Blackest Black.

For my mascara I'm currently loving Rimmel's Accelorator Endless Mascara. I also use an old spoule from Rimmel's Scandaleyes to help seperate my lashes and give them a little volume.

Lip liner is so important when using a darker lipstick. Darker Lipsticks tend to bleed into your skin which is not a good look. I'm using Maybelline's lip liner pencil in 338 Midnight plum. I'm going slightly over my lip line to prevent any slip ups, I also go over my lips lightly in the pencil just to give my lipstick some base.

The finished face and hair! :)

This is the dress I wore tonight. I bought it off another girl on an app called Vinted - I'll be doing a post about this app after christmas for you guys so keep an eye out!

My boyfriend and I after we left the restaurant.

Découpage shoes

Hello Everyone!

I haven't actually posted about this on here yet, but earlier this year I tried out Découpage. I found it easy to do and got very, very creative with it. So much so, that I've actually started doing them for my friends.

I started by using old pairs of heels from charity shops, I found quite a lot of pairs of shoes with hardly any wear on the soles/heel. I would take these home and cut out images from wrapping paper and stick them on with PVA glue.

These, above, are my babies. The first pair of Découpage shoes I ever created. These wear just a pair of gold heels from New Look that I only wore once, now I wear these a lot more. I love the butterflies that I created on the front of the shoes. To think that these were made from wrapping paper and glue! I'm so pleased with these, definitely my favourite pair.

The below photos of shoes are pairs that I have created for my friends and for my mom.

The pair above are the ones that I'm currently working on.

I'm actually tempted to turn this into a little business for myself as I've had a couple more people ask me to do them a pair. To add more to this I'm doing a dressmaking class next year to dip my hands into that craft, as I really want to create my own clothes.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this project, any ideas for me? Please throw them at me!

Autumn looks

Hello everyone!

So it's that time of the year again, definitely one of my favourite seasons for clothing!
I love being able to wear pretty dresses with thick tights on, digging out my  boots from the bottom of my wardrobe and getting all snuggled up by the fire on nights.
Here is part of my autumn wardrobe this year!
*All photos were taken on my iPhone and the camera is not that great so apologies for the terrible quality of photos!

As a quick p.s I buy the majority of my clothes from New Look! :)

Black and White

Hello everyone!
Since I left my previous job in a convenience store I dont see my friends as much as I used to, with our working hours being completely different. So a much needed girls night out was on the cards! It's been a very long time since I've been out for drinks with my friends, as I'm trying to save my money when and where I can so we usually just go for a meal somewere or catch up at each others homes.

I love the whole getting ready part of a night out, having everyone around helping each other to get ready, endless amounts of clothes on the floor/bed as we all change our outfits multiple times. I'm usually the one to help out with the outfits, I like adding on accesories and choosing statement jewellery.

This night out was planned about two months ago, however, me being me completely forgot about it until a few nights before.  I had literally just cleared out my wardrobe of dresses that were either too big for me or I didnt wear so I had nothing to wear! It was a girls worst nightmare! So, I had to quickly dash up to the shopping mall near me and run about like a headless chicken trying to find a dress.

I picked out this black shift dress from River Island for £25, it has cut out shoulders which for me is very different to what I would normally pick.  I dont usually show off my arms when I go out as I'm quite self concious of them. However, in this dress I wasn't actually bothered by them.
I'm a size 10-12 and I normally buy dresses in a size 12 to make sure I'm comfortable in them. This dress however is a size 10 and very loose on me, I could have probably gotten away with buying a size 8 in this (wow I feel tiny!)  The sleeves on this come up quite low, not as far down to my elbow but it's a comfortable length. The overall length of the dress is quite short (I did wear my little tiny shorts on underneath just incase!) and normally I would constantly be on high alert on how high up my dress was, but I didnt so it was so nice to feel this comfortable in a dress.

I borrowed this necklace from one of my friends as I felt it would look good against my dress. Having a plain dress I felt that I could have used a big statement necklace. I dont usually wear plain dresses so I wanted something 'pretty' on me. The necklace is a collection of white/cream coloured flowers on a small thin chain. I think this necklace finishes the look. It was bought from New Look but unfortunately I don't know how much it cost.

The shoes that I wore were from New Look as well, I bought them about two/three years ago for £9! Got to love a bargain :) I wear these shoes a lot as they are stupidly comfy and as they're black they go with a lot of my outfits. They cover the top of my feet but have cut out parts which make them look very pretty. Definitely one of my favourite pairs of shoes!

So there you are, my outfit for my most recent night out :)
